🦠 Diseases & Environmental Stress
Prevention is paramount for diseases. Most are easier to prevent than cure.
🍄 Powdery Mildew (High Severity)
Time to React: Hours to a day
- Symptoms: White, powdery spots on leaves resembling flour
- Causes: High humidity, poor air circulation, temperature fluctuations
- Treatment: Improve airflow, reduce humidity, remove affected leaves, fungicidal sprays
- Prevention: Maintain humidity below 55% in flower, ensure excellent airflow
💀 Bud Rot (Critical - Often Untreatable)
Time to React: Immediate (Hours)
- Symptoms: Individual sugar leaves yellowing within buds, soft/mushy bud tissue, gray mold
- Causes: High humidity (above 60%) in canopy, poor airflow around dense buds
- Treatment: Immediate removal of affected buds, improve environment
- Point of No Return: Once visible, usually too late - prevention is critical
🌡️ Environmental Stress
Time to React: Hours to a day
- Heat Stress: Leaves curl upwards (tacoing), yellowing at edges
- Light Burn: Bleaching of top leaves closest to light
- Wind Burn: Clawing, curling from excessive airflow
🚨 Critical: Bud rot is devastating and largely preventable. Maintain humidity below 55% during flower and ensure excellent air circulation around all bud sites.
